The NYU Child Study Center is dedicated to the understanding, prevention, and treatment
of child and adolescent mental health problems.The Center offers expert psychiatric
services for children and families with emphasis on early diagnosis and intervention.The
Centers mission is to bridge the gap between science and practice, integrating the finest
research with patient care and utilizing an extraordinary new facility and the resources of
the world-class New York University School of Medicine.
Their accomplishments include:
38 research programs with federal and foundation support.
Clinical services that evaluate and treat children from all over the world.
A commitment to 9/11 recovery efforts in New York City including outreach services to
over 4,500 children, adolescents, parents and teachers in the vicinity of Ground Zero
as well as 500 bereaved children and families of uniformed personnel.
A website, www.AboutOurKids.org that received over one million unique users in 2002.
